American Rocketry Challenge

American Rocketry Challenge

The American Rocketry Challenge (ARC) is the world's largest student rocket competition, bringing together thousands of teams from across the nation to compete in designing, building, and launching model rockets that meet specific performance requirements.

The Challenge

Each year, ARC presents teams with unique mission requirements. Teams must design and build rockets that can achieve specific altitude targets, carry payloads, and recover safely—all while meeting strict safety and design constraints.

Competition Structure

The competition runs throughout the school year, with teams submitting qualification flights, competing in regional events, and advancing to the national finals held near Washington, D.C. each May.

AV Rockets' History

AV Rockets has participated in ARC for multiple seasons, gaining valuable experience in rocket design, testing, and competition. Each year, we build on our previous knowledge to create more sophisticated and reliable rockets.

This Year's Team

Our dedicated ARC team consists of students passionate about aerospace engineering. Team members work on various aspects including design, construction, testing, documentation, and flight operations.

Get Involved in ARC

Interested in joining our ARC team? We're always looking for motivated students who want to take on the challenge of competitive rocketry. Whether you're interested in design, building, testing, or documentation, there's a role for you on the team.
